Sten Eklund was a Swedish painter and graphic artist. Educated in 1966-1971 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Stockholm.
Early on, Sten Eklund had been fascinated by incomprehensible appliances and constructions, which he reproduced with precision and accuracy on glass, watercolor paper or canvas.
In watercolor or gouache, in Marcel Duchamp's spirit and tradition, he has reproduced remarkable battalion paintings and other combat scenes, populated with figures built of Lego pieces.
Sten Eklund is represented at the National Museum and the Modern Art Museum in Stockholm, Gothenburg Art Museum, Östergötland Läns Museum i Linköping, Norrköping Art Museum, Uppsala Art Museum and The Museo de la Solidaridad Salvador Allende in Santiago, Chile.
