More information

Welcome a piece of Swedish glassblowing history into your home.

This crucible (smältdegel) contains various melted glass remnants from the skilled hands of several artisans. It has now been repurposed as a lit coffee table art piece by industrial designer Jan Klingler. An LED light placed beneath the beautifully cracked glass is controlled via remote or smartphone to change the brightness or color, depending on the desired mood. This coffee table is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.

History: This particular crucible hails from the Glasbolaget in Bro, north of Stockholm. It is an environmentally friendly glass studio run by Ammy Olofsson & Erika Kristofersson Bredberg. An eco-friendly operation, their furnace operates on landfill gas from organic waste. Glasbolaget only melts recycled glass and mainly recycled environmental crystal.
