"Alfred Boman's painting is an energetic but controlled processing of the colors. The intense color scale and sharp contrasts move the thinking further to African modernist paintings, but it can also be associated with expressionism during the 1980´s. However, the images are neither expressionistic nor formalistic. Instead, it is a material exploratory painting of a highly contemporary nature. "
