"Lars Englunds perfekt utformade stålämnen som utgör de minsta beståndsdelarna i figurerna är alla lika i varje enskilt klot. Utifrån dessa skapas olika geometriskt mönstrade stommar till de fiktivt klotformade luftrummen. I vissa fogas den regelbundna pentagonen ihop med den liksidiga triangeln. I andra löper beståndsdelarna amok precis som i naturen och undlåter att perfekt beskriva de jämna formerna. Istället spritter ”nästanformerna” av det liv som våra sökande och medskapande ögon skänker dem. I klotet ovan, som skulle kunna vara en myras drömlika meditation över sitt spänstiga byggmaterial i form av tallbarr, sjuder det av vitalitet och livskraft. I andra är uttrycket närmast mekaniskt, som om den vore utformad utan organisk medverkan. I vissa fall blir man till och med fundersam över om figuren verkligen blir helt regelbundet klotrund. Finns det trots allt skevheter som smugit sig in bland de tillsynes perfekta mönsterverken? Eller försöker tanken göra uppror mot fulländningens sugande kraft? ...."
