Helena Tynell

Helena Tynell (1918-2016) was a Finnish glass designer. Tynell’s works are often colourful and playful and she is best known for the ”Aurinkopullo” bottle – a bottle vase in the shape of a sun. Helena Tynell graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki in 1943. She worked with ceramics in Arabia in 1943-1946. In parallel with this and until 1953, she also worked with lighting at Taito Oy. Between 1946 and 1976 she was one of the keen designers at Riihimäen Lasi.
