The Swedish artist Olle Nyman (1909-1999) was born, lived and worked at the family estate Duvnäs Gård in Saltsjö-Duvnäs outside Stockholm. Nyman's work; sculptures, still lives, portraits and landscapes shows a strong influence of Cubism and of the artist's interest in architecture. His compositions in a palette of soft earth tones often include architectural elements such as rooftops, doors, and angular views of interiors and exteriors. The ouevre of Olle Nyman also includes monumental public works, murals for the Karolinska Hospital, tapestries in collaboration with Barbro Nilsson for Borås Town hall and for the Ministry of Finance, a mosaic in natural stone for Södertälje crematorium etc.
