Incunabula and 16th-Century Books from the Collection of Bengt Ollfors

Incunabula are the earliest printed western books, printed from the mid-15th century up to and including the year 1500. Their appearance differs from later books i.a. by the absence of a title-page, with the bibliographical information printed in the colophon instead, usually on the final leaf. Many books of the early 1500s preserve the archaic characteristics of incunabula. They are often just as rare and sought-after, and are sometimes called “post-incunabula”.
