Plastic Fantastic

In this theme auction you can follow the plastic’s development from the early bakelite with objects from the 1920s, to design classics from the later half of the 20th century. Plastic gave designers and architects new possibilities to create new shapes and objects which earlier have been impossible. Parts of this collection has been shown at the exhibition ”Plastics” at Kulturhuset in Stockholm in 1993 and it shows how big influence the plastic have had on the 20th-century designs and how we – as users – have been imprinted by new types of objects.
