Pierre Forssell worked at Skultuna Brass Works from 1955 to 1986, for over thirty years. During this time, he was instrumental in giving the company a new status in modern design with his modernist approach, especially during the 1960s and 70s. He succeeded the legendary Erik Fleming at Skultuna as the designer of cooking vessels. Over time, he discovered brass, which allowed him to give his objects a sleek and modern design.
His studies at Konstfack led to his painting career (where his peer included Bengt Lindström) where after he trasferred to the silver-smithing program. There, he later became a teacher in silver-smithing at the age of twenty-six, but it was not until the H55 fair in Helsingborg that his contemporary design garnered significant attention. Forssell also designed a wide range of stainless steel items for Gense.
