Signe Persson-Melin 100 Years

This year marks what would have been the 100th birthday of one of Sweden’s most prominent designers, Signe Persson-Melin. Congratulations! Over a career spanning more than 60 years, she mastered a wide range of materials and forms. The endless variety in Signe’s design work is as boundless as the shapes her objects have taken.

Persson-Melin designed a wealth of everyday objects for the home, all reflecting her refined balance between form and function. She allowed each process the time it needed, creating objects that are exceptionally well-balanced and rooted in geometric fundamentals. Her unique pieces represent a dialogue between delicate craftsmanship and personal aesthetics, where nothing was left to chance. Today, Signe Persson-Melin is remembered as an icon of the Swedish ceramics and glass scene.

In this themed auction, we celebrate her legacy with a selection of both her unique works and many of her beautifully crafted everyday objects.
