Bowl of glazed stoneware marked "RÖRSTRAND LIDKÖPING GUNNAR NYLUND HANDTHROWN STONEWARE" measures approximately 15.5-14.5 cm, round bowl marked "RÖRSTRAND R NYLUND" diameter 14.5 cm, oval bowl marked "R SWEDEN GN ARF" length 17 cm, bowl/dish with flower marked "R SWEDEN GN" length 11 cm.

The Nylund Family
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish ceramicist, designer and sculptor. Gunnar Nylund was active for periods at Bing & Grøndahl, for a few years had his own workshop, Saxbo stentøj, and worked at Nymølle ceramic factory in Denmark. For most of his working life he lived in Sweden and was employed at Rörstrand porcelain factory 1931-59 where he was also assigned the role of artistic director. He has become known for his many different animal sculptures in stoneware, but he also made lots of vases, bowls, lamp bases, etc., as well as tableware and other utensils. Nylund also designed glass for Strömbergshyttan.
