The Nobel service was designed for the 90th anniversary of the Nobel Prize in 1991 and is used at the Nobel Banquet. The service was awarded Excellent Swedish Design in 1992. The colours are intended to symbolise "the seasons, the continents, and the foremost of the Nobel Prizes." The service was in production from 1991 to 2015.
