The Iconic artist Vesa-Matti Loiri – memorabilia

Welcome to a unique themed auction featuring items from the private collection of the beloved Finnish multi-artist Vesa-Matti Loiri. Few artists in Finland have reached the iconic status or demonstrated such versatile talent as actor, comedian, musician, and singer Vesa-Matti Loiri. Loiri moved effortlessly between popular and high culture, with his comedic characters — such as Uuno Turhapuro, Nasse-setä, and Jean-Pierre Kusela — standing in contrast to his more serious dramatic roles. As a singer, Loiri is celebrated for his interpretations of Finnish schlager, and he released a total of four albums featuring songs set to the poetry of Eino Leino. Altogether, he recorded over 30 albums, of which at least twelve achieved gold status. In interviews, Loiri shared that music was the aspect of his artistry that held the greatest personal significance for him.

The auction includes several remarkable items from Vesa-Matti Loiri's career. A vibrant and expressive artwork showcases Loiri's talent as a visual artist, while among the gold records, Sydämeeni Joulun teen — Finland's best-selling Christmas album of all time — deserves a special mention. Also included in the auction is the guestbook from the talk show Loirinuotiolla (2015), in which notable figures such as President Sauli Niinistö took part.
