Smoked clay (Terre Enfumée). Stamp-signed. Lidded box with iridescent glaze on the inside. Height 9.5 cm. Plate with wavy edge, approximately 13.5 x 13.5 cm.
The overall impression is good. Minor chip on the lid.
Steen Kepp is a Danish-born ceramist and graphic artist. He trained from 1972 at the Academy of Art in Nice and then in Vence with the lithographer Pierre Chave. From 1972 to 1977, Kepp stayed in Japan, working among others for Takeo Suto and Tsuneo Narui in Mashiko. Eventually, Steen Kepp acquired a workshop in the village of La Borne in France. To this day, he maintains a workshop there together with a colleague. In 1986, Steen Kepp moved to Sweden and continues his ceramic journey.
