SystembolagetWine and spirits auctions

The beverage auctions end the spring season with an emphasis on Europe and a rich selection of white wines for all tastes.

Red burgundy and champagne are in unthreatened pole position, followed by red Italian wines and Scottish whiskey. The main sections of our beverage auctions continue to take turns to pull the lead. Bordeaux is represented with more than 200 lots of vintages from 1934 to 2016, while Champagne shows a wide range of vintages from classic vintages such as 1990, 1996, 2002 and 2008. Italy is mainly represented by Tuscany, Piedmont and Valpolicella, but there are also mixed lots for those who want to discover the lesser-known areas of the great wine country.

In a large white wine section, France shows its entire width. From Alsace with its equally storable and multifaceted wines to Sauternes elegant sweetness. From world-class burgundy to rural Jura with its intrinsically saturated and oxidized white wines.

Tar and peat smoke are words that appeal to many Swedish whiskey fanatics. These features are reflected in this auction where more than half of the items in the Scottish Whiskey Section originate from the smoky whiskey's home, Islay. Particularly worth noticing is a large collection of Port Ellen distilled from 1974 to 1982 - the year before the distillery was put to rest. During the spring, Japanese whiskey has reached high final prices and several records. The rare editions of the much-talked-about Ichiro Akuto game card series have attracted special attention. From the Ichiro's playing card series, we have a trio of dressed cards in the June auction: jack of spades, queen of diamonds and king of diamonds.

Welcome to beverage auction D028 June 2020 which will be published on May 29 and will be sold on June 8–10

Beverage auctions and Covid-19

The beverage auctions will continue as planned with the spring season's three auctions, while we carefully follow the advice and information from the health authorities. The corona virus affects us all to varying degrees, directly or indirectly, yet our safety comes first and foremost.

When it comes to submissions and retrieval, anyone who does not show flu symptoms is welcome as usual. Feel free to contact us for larger deliveries, so we can prepare a smooth handling.

If you may face issues with retrieving your purchase, we will do our best to find the best solutions for each case.

Please contact us if you have any questions, either by e-mail at: auctions@systembolaget.se or by phone: 08 503 327 54.
