Although late summer is still with us, we are getting in early to publicise the first wine and spirits auction of the autumn. This auction stands out with some truly rare lots, where provenance is particularly important. Examples include the extremely rare Mazis-Chambertin from Madame Bize-Leroy’s own Domaine d’Auvenay – only about 350 bottles of this wine are made each year.
The champagnes include a magnum of 1964 Bollinger, completely unopened crates of 1990 Salon in perfect condition and hard-to-find 1990 Selosse from the early days of Anselme Selosse’s career.
As for the reds, there’s an exciting magnum of 1959 Château La Tour Haut-Brion with chateaux provenance, in excellent condition thanks to ideal storage conditions.
The unusually large spirits section includes special lots such as The Macallan Royal Marriage 1948 & 1961 and blended Andrew Usher & Co bottled in Sweden. Other great Swedish lots include N.P. Nordström Caloric Punsch and a hundred-year-old Extra Fin Gammal Arrac from G. Platin & Co.
