SystembolagetWine and spirits auctions

Exclusive and classic items in the first Wine and Spirits Auction of the year

To the Auction >

Following an exceptional 2018, our wine and spirits auctions for 2019 begin with the largest ever individual auction. It includes everything from lower-priced mature wines to the most exclusive bottlings from the world of wine and spirits across more than 1,600 lots. The higher-value offerings include several lots featuring Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, both as individual bottles and complete cases. A 1996 Romanée-Conti is the wine with the highest reserve price, at SEK 100,000 for a bottle.

Bordeaux wines traditionally account for the largest number of lots. The right bank is represented by Le Pin, Pétrus, Lafleur and Cheval Blanc, while from the left bank we have Margaux, Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Mouton Rothschild and Haut-Brion. An array of significant Bordeaux wines from a number of classic vintages. These include both 1990s wines ready to enjoy and wines from the 2000s to be laid down for the future. For lovers of mature wines, the vintages begin with a 1934 Château Latour. The auction’s oldest item is a Madeira Tarantês from 1877.

We can also offer something stronger – a substantial selection of that most classic of spirits, cognac. This multi-faceted beverage ranges from offering a fruity timeless tipple, to oaky elegance and thoughtful appreciation. We also have an impressive range of cognac’s archenemy, whisky, with an emphasis, as usual, on Scotland. The more than 300 lots are testament to Swedes’ considerable interest in whisky. Here you will find The Macallan in a number of rare older vintages, with a 1938 a particular highlight. From Islay: Black Bowmore and Bowmore Gold, two unique bottlings distilled in 1964. The broad selection on offer reflects Sweden’s enduring interest in both whisky and alcoholic beverages in general.

We hope you enjoy this journey of discovery among some of the greatest treasures from the world of wine and spirits.
