More information

Inka & Niclas have been working together since 2007. Their art explores how we perceive nature today. It also investigates how photography shapes our view of landscapes. The materiality of photography is central to their work. They experiment with what a photograph can be, transferring their subjects to new untested materials such as hair extensions or photographic three-dimensional sculptures made of plaster, pigment, and varnish in the form of high-gloss larger stones and draped textiles. Inka & Niclas continually return to the overconsumed depictions of nature, such as banal sunsets. Throughout, the artist duo has worked with the mechanics of seeing and humanity's relationship with nature as depicted through the lens of the camera.

The artist duo has had numerous exhibitions worldwide and is represented in the collections of several institutions, including Moderna Museet and Göteborgs Konstmuseum. They are currently featured in the exhibition "INKA & NICLAS - ELYSIUM ECHO" at Willas Contemporary at IVAR, Tändstickspalatset, from 5 March to 5 June 2025. From 16 to 18 May 2025, Inka & Niclas will exhibit at Market Art Fair in Stockholm with Dorothée Nilsson Gallery, based in Berlin. In Berlin, they recently presented the exhibition "PERCEPTIONS," from 18 January to 22 February 2025.
