More information

Charlotte Wahlström's paintings from Kullahalvön in the soutwest of Sweden, are particularly noted for their lyrical depiction of nature. Many artists from her generation were drawn to this area, gathering in the seaside village of Arild. In Wahlström's motifs from this small locality at the foot of the steep coast of Kullaberg, blooming heather moors are central. The vivid heath's contrast to the mountain's barren, dark silhouette creates a captivating atmosphere. From positions further into Skälderviken, she depicted beautiful, tranquil cloud formations and the changing movements of the sea.
