A Renaissance Limoges polychrome enamel tazza, by Jacques Laudin I (ca. 1627-1695).

Parcel-gilt, polychrome and grisaille enamel. The interior of the bowl decorated with military trophies, chained titans and the goddess Nike after a design by Daniel Hopfer. The rim signed "I • L •". The bottom of the bowl decorated with scrollwork, polychrome flowers and birds. The flared foot decorated with mascharons, sphinxes and putti carrying greek masks. Height 7, diameter 17 cm.

Provenance

The Finnish sculptor Harry Kivijärvi, thereafter by inheritance.
Uppsala Auction House 2011.
Subsequently acquired by the current owner.
