Donated by: Miss Helena Mott, given in memory of the donor's father, Henry Mott. Registration number 1996,1005.4.a-e.

They describe the stacking jars or items with this kind of decoration, being decorated to show famous men and women from China’s past with inscriptions. The figures are from Wu Shuang Pu (Peerless Historical Figures), which was published in AD1694, depicting 40 famous people.
