Each painted in the centre with a medallion enclosing three lotus flower heads borne on leafy vines, the well decorated with a border of lotus beneath a slightly everted rim, the exterior with a further lotus scroll band, the base bearing a seal mark in underglaze blue. Diameter 15.3 cm.
Property of a private Swedish collector, long term member of the Swedish Oriental Ceramics Society, who started to collect in the early 1980's.
Compare with a pair in the British Museum with this decoration but of the Guangxu period. Bequeathed by: Sir John M Addis, acquisition date 1984. Registration number 1984,0202.64.
