A Louis XIV and Louis XIV-style carved ebony, ivory and tortoiseshell-inlaid cabinet on stand, 17th and 19th century.

The stand 19th century. Veneered with ebony. The interior with inlays of ivory, tortoiseshell, and green-stained bone. The façade with four drawers above the pair of doors, door panels decorated with Diana and her nymphs after Domenichino, the interior with small drawers and a pair of doors enclosing architecturally designed interior. Length 170, width 57, height 189 cm. Keys included.

Provenance

Probably Count Gustaf Ulf Bonde af Säfstaholm (1698-1772) of Säfstaholm, Wibyholm, and other estates. Recorded in his estate inventory in 1773 under "Cabinet" at Wibyholm: 1 cabinet of veneered ebony ---- 100.
Thereafter inherited (along with the ancestral estates) by his daughter Ebba Margareta (1746-1784), the last of the Bonde af Säfstaholm family, married to Count Carl Bonde af Björnö (1741-1791), recorded in his estate inventory in 1791 at Kjesäter in "The anteroom to the right of the Hall": 1 cabinet of ebony old: ----1:16.
By inheritance to his grandson, Count Gustaf Trolle-Bonde (1806-1884), recorded at Wibyholm in "The Large Bedroom": 1 [antique] ebony cabinet with contents ---- 1000. Inherited by his son Count Fredrik Bonde (1842-1909), recorded in his estate inventory in 1909 at Teleborg in "The Yellow Salon": 1 cabinet of ebony ---- 10000. Inherited by his son Nils Bonde.
