More information

Matthew Palladino lives and works in La Paz, Bolivia. He trained at the California College of the Arts. His work focuses on sculptural reliefs and a highly personal and contemporary version of watercolour painting. In his production, he uses advanced techniques, including 3D design, to create the structure of his reliefs. His three-dimensional forms are then treated with a high level of craftsmanship and more traditional manual painting methods to create works that are a hybrid of both old and new creative methods. Palladino's paintings are hand-painted on cold-pressed watercolour paper using a mixture of watercolour and ink, without the use of masking fluid or tape. Mr Palladino is represented by Carl Kostyal and his work is in the Whitney Museum of American Art and other international collections. He has had solo exhibitions at Dio Horia in Athens, Retrospective Gallery, New York, and Eli Ridgway Gallery in San Francisco, among others, and has been reviewed in the New York Times, Art Forum, Juxtapoz, and Dazed.
