An antique pictoral Yazd carpet, central Persia, c. 505 x 390 cm.
Circa 1920. A dark blue ground with a large polychrome medallion and corner ornaments as well as arabesques, predators, deer, birds, flower and palmette festoons. A yellow melange main border with cloud bands, stylized flowers, and large cartouches with inscriptions.
Saleroom notice
The carpet is from Yazd in the Kerman area, not Tehran as previously indicated.
