A Gustavian gilt-brass and cut-glass four-branch chandelier by O. Westerberg (master in Stockholm 1769-1881), dated 1795

Signed with an engraved signature "W" and dated 1795 on the terminating plate of the central rod. Height 77, diameter 55 cm.

More information

Frans Olof Westerberg (1750-1811) was the son of mirror manufacturer and merchant Olof W and was trained by him. Already at the age of 19, according to the accounts of the Board of Trade for 1769, he was reported to have produced 69 mirrors, 66 wall lights, and 3 chandeliers.
