Anders Wissler (1869-1941), married to Bess Wissler (1866-1952) from 1904, established themselves in Mariefred after joint studies in Paris. They started their studio, Ateljé Solklinten, in 1909. It is generally considered the first private stoneware kiln in Sweden.
