Reference 2494 was launched in 1950 and remained in production until 1962. The case was made by George Croisier, a master case maker from Geneva, identified with key number 5.

The reference utilized three different movements: the first series, caliber 12 120, which debuted in 1950; the second series, caliber 12 400, which debuted in 1951; and the third series, caliber 27 AM 400, which debuted in 1960.
