Provenance

Gift from King Hassan II of Morocco to Archduchess Walburga von Habsburg (now Habsburg-Douglas), presented during a New Year's celebration in Fez (Morocco) in 1978, due to the King's friendship with her father, Archduke Otto von Habsburg.

More information

King Hassan II of Morocco employed the French jeweller Chaumet for his custom orders, as indicated by the inventory number "2590 RE". Among the items specially crafted there was the diamond and ruby-set bezel ring.
