Base in crystal glass, socket in chrome plated metal, pleated shades, labelled 2214/271 Orrefors Design O Alberius and signed Orrefors AD 2214. Height with shade 55 cm.
Minor wear. Function not tested.
Designer
Olle Alberius was a Swedish designer and glass artist. From 1963 to 1971, Alberius was associated with Rörstrands Porslinsfabrik, where he worked partly with works of art, partly with tableware. From 1971 he was active at Orrefors glassworks, where he designed both classic tableware such as Victoria (1978) and Erik (1974), art glass in the Ariel and Graal technique as well as cut crystal sculptures.
