Waller studied at the Stockholm Technical School and a shorter time for Per Hasselberg at the School of the Arts Association before beginning in the 1890s traveled to Paris for further studies for Jean-Antoine Injalbert and Auguste Rodin. At a sculpture ceremony at Académie Julian in 1896 he was awarded the first prize. Most famous, he has become a portrait head of Ivar Arosenius, who performed during their joint Paristid 1904-1905. In addition, he performed portraits of the authors Henning Berger, Anders Österling and Nils Collett Vogt, as well as the artists Axel Törneman, Fernand Léger and Per Krohg
