”Eugène-Rose de Beauharnais” (1781-1824)
Eugène de Beauharnais, born September 3, 1781 in Paris, died February 21, 1824 in Munich, was a French general during the Napoleonic Wars, best known as the adopted son of Napoleon I. He served as the Viceroy of Italy and as a military commander, he won several battles during the Napoleonic Wars.
Through his daughter Josephine of Leuchtenberg, who was married to Oscar I, he was the maternal grandfather of, among others, Charles XV and Oscar II.
