More information

A clock much alike the one presented at auction is held in the collections of Musée international d'horlogerie at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. This clock is numbered 408 to the movment, and the silver case is dated 1773. Hence Nohrman only crafted one movement between the one in the Musée's collection and the one presented here. Hence one can conclude that the clock presented at auction was almost certainly made in the same year.

Bukowskis would like to thank the Musée international d'horlogerie, the Centre d'études Institut l'Homme et le Temps, and the Museum of Swedish Royal History for assitance regarding the piece.
