Johan Wallin explains in his own words:
"Karin Mamma graduated from the Art Academy in 1993. I saw her exhibition at Galleri Mejan in February 1992. It was memorably beautiful and exciting. I bought a painting. Karin was happy. Hans Wigert has also bought, she announced proudly. A few years later I exhibited Karin and Hans together at the Sollentuna fair.
Karin was quickly appreciated by many. More and more exhibitions were booked. Difficult to buy anything else. The paintings were needed for exhibitions. Karin knew that I would like to have another painting. So she gave me a tip. In a few weeks I will have some paintings in a collective exhibition in Botkyrka Konsthall in Tumba center. I went there a week after the opening. There were three paintings: one very large and sold (to Folke Lalander, then director of Liljevalchs Konsthall, I later learned), a rather small portrait and a medium-sized painting "Dramatiska Teatern". I bought that one."
