Gunilla Maria Åkesson (b. 1963) is educated at Konstindustriskolan, Bergen, Norway and works in Gärsnäs in Österlen. She is represented at The National Museum of Decorative Art, Trondheim, The National Museum Art, Architecture & Design, Oslo, KODE, Art Museum of Bergen, the Culture Council as well as Ystad Art Museum and Malmö Art Museum. She was nominated for the World Craft Council's European Prize and the Loewe Craft Prize and also nominated for the Officine Saffi Award, Milan.
