Letter som the seller:
My uncle moved to California in 1963 where he started working at a car dealership in Sacramento.
In 1964, he made contact with Volvo in San Fernando Valley, outside of Los Angeles, and started working as a manager.
In the mid-70s, he took over a car dealership on Hollywood Boulevard that sold Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, and SAAB, but his heart still beat for Volvo. So in the late 70s and early 80s, he started Ventura Volvo and ran it until he retired in the early 2000s.
Bukowskis takes great pride in presenting a rare gem to the public market - the Heuer ”Volvo” Carrera reference 2447 NST, with provenance from its original owner. With only a handful of these watches known to exist on the market, this is an extraordinary opportunity to own a truly exceptional timepiece. During its heyday, Heuer leveraged strategic distribution centers in the United States, which paved the way for a few select and bespoke collaborations between Heuer and premium brands such as Volvo.
This watch was made exclusively for high performance Volvo employees in the US, according to our correspondence with Heuer. This special edition represents an exceptional period in their history.
