Van Dyck probably painted a now lost half -lenght portrait of Henrietta Maria as Saint Catherine after his arrival in England 1632. A number of versions of this portrait exists, at Queen’s College, Oxford, National Museum of Art, Stockholm, Audley End, Essex, among others.
Some details are different such as the positioning of Henriettas right hand. In this version the hand appears to have initially clasping the wheel. (See additional picture).
