A pair of Swedish Empire armchairs, Stockholm, first half of the 19th century.

Veneered with mahogany. Gilt brass mounts. Seat height 48, height 93 cm.

Provenance

According to tradition fromthe family af Ugglas.
Possibly two of the six ”ländstolar af mahogny med tagel stoppning” [armchairs of mahogony with horsehair padding] recorded in the estate inventory of Count Samuel af Ugglas (1750-1812) from 1812, as being in the writing cabinet in the house at Drottninggatan, Stockholm.
