An Egyptian hardstone funerary scarab, probably Late Period, 26th-30th Dynasties, circa 664-343 B.C.

The underside with hieroglyphic text containing variants of Chapters 30A and B of The Book of the Dead, naming a person, possible a male, as Huty-Hery. Length 7.2, width 4.9, height 2.5 cm.

Count Malcom Hamilton (1880-1969) who lived in Alexandria 1907-14, where he became Egyptian singelsculler champion. Presented to his brother
Carl-Gustav Hamilton (1882-1968).
