A large Chines glazed stoneware ridge tile figure, Ming dynasty (1368-1644).

In the the shape of a guardian, glazed in turquoise, amber and aubergine. Height 42 cm. Mounted to a wooden base. Height including the wooden base 45 cm.

Provenance

The Collection of Ivan Traugott (1871-1952). Thence by descent. Traugott was a Swedish businessman and important art collector. A large part of his collections can be seen today at Nationalmuseum and East Asian Museum in Stockholm.
