A Swedish Marieberg faience tureen with cover, dated 1765.

Marked 'MB E 16/10 (17)65'. After a silver model, with a dolphin shaped finial, decorated with flowers in blue. Length 37 cm.

Restored.

Provenance

From the Collection of the Swedish Banker, Art Collector and Mecenat Falk Simon (1874-1957), Gothenburg, thence by descent. Falk Simon was an important collector of antiques and art in Sweden, he donated his renowned silver collection to the Röhsska Museum in 1934.
