a bronze fitted (by Georg Thylstrup) stoneware vase, Royal Copenhagen.

Glazed in green, grey and brown hues, signed PN and S (?) 25 (1925?) in underglaze blue. Bronze base and cover, the base signed GT. Total height 20 cm.

Georg Thylstrup (1884-1930) has meant a lot to Danish arts and crafts. He was an apprentice to both Mogens Ballin and Georg Jensen before coming to work for the company Anton Michelsen. Thylstrup won a gold medal for Michelsen at the World's Fair in Paris in 1925. He also worked for the Royal Copenhagen Factory and came there with innovative ideas. Thylstrup is the man behind the bronze mounts on stoneware that are somtimes seen on e.g. Patrik Nordström's object
