Woven in three parts. A dark blue ground with stylized flower vases and flowers in yellow, red and ivory. A middle medallion with crowned double eagles, birds and heraldic symbols as well as the text: SOIED.N.JULIANRUIZ. NETEXIOENYEJEN JOSEFA LOPEZ Â D 1776. A red main border with urns, flowers, lilies and birds. A dark blue outer border with a flower vine. Lined.
Some partly hard wear, damages, repairs, holes, minor stains.
Has been part of the famous Wher Collection, Switzerland, bought in the mid 1970's at BudHolland, Chicago, who bought the rug in Spain; Bukowskis' International Spring Auction 1998, catalogue number 0508: 1406.
