A pair of late yellow ground vases with five clawed dragons, late Qing dynasty.

Dropp shaped with tall neck, decorated in green, aubergine and white against a yellow ground with five clawed dragons chasing the flaming pearl against alternating with bats holding tassels. Heihgt vase 34 cm. Height with mount 64 cm.

Hole for cord. Crazing to glaze. Crack.

Provenance

From the collection of engineer Claes A Philips (1912-2000), thence by descent. Claes Philip was a passionate collector of Antiquites, Old Masters, Asian Works of Arts, fine European furniture and decorative arts. His eclectic home was presented in a spectacular way at Trollesunds Säteri up until 1965, thereafter in his home in Stockholm.
