The vendor's family were friends with the Bülow Hübe family through their summer vacations at the island Romanö in the early 1950's.

Torun had her first studio up at an attic in Stockholm. She was a young student and also a mother and had to work with the materials she could afford at the time. She was very much inspired by African works of art.
Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, often known simply as Torun, was one of Sweden's most important 20th century silversmiths and a master jeweller. She is the first female silversmith to have become internationally noted.
