Purschased from Nagel Auction House, Stuttgart, from the sale of the Property from the estate of Juergen L. Fischer, Ascona. 1 of 6

Jürgen L Fisher (1939-2013), had an early interest in Chinese porcelain and antiques. He built up a vast collection and published the book, Chiniesicher Kunst. He was also well known as a collector of snuff bottles, and in 2002 he published ‘Snuff Bottles- Kostbarkeiten Chinesischer Kleinkunst’. Mr Fisher made several journeys to China to visit the art academies and purchase art from artists from the early 1980’s and onwards. His collection was sold through Nagel from 2010 and onwards.

Exhibitions

Exhibited in Beijing in 2006 in the exhibit "Western Eye- Early Contemporary Chinese Painting", that were held in Beijing Imperial City Art Museum, in the forbidden city. The Exhibition were filmed by CCTV who also did an intervju with Jürgen Fisher, the interview is available at youtube.

More information

The Beijing born artist focus on the beauty of Beijing, he integrates Western painting styles with traditional Chinese ink painting techniques.

He moved to the US as a visinting professor at Nothwestern University in 1991, and has held numerous exhibition during his years in the United States. In 2001 Zhao returned to support Beijings bid to host the Summer Olympic Games. He took part in the exhibition "Famous painters in Beijing".
