Two Tibethan/Nepalese silvered brass temple stamps, presumably late 19th Century.

Decorated with buddhist emblems such as eternity knot, double fish and conchshell as well as dragons. With holes for using with a cord. Height 26-26,5 cm.

Wear, dents.

Provenance

Used in Tibet by Buddhist monks to stamp religious documents, sutras and works of art.

Literature

The conch shell symbolizes the Blessedness of turning to the right way. The twin fish symbolize beings rescued from the Ocean of Earthly existence.
