A large black stone head of Guanyin, Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Carved with a small urna in the center of the forhead, the face with heavely lidded eyes and angular nose, the ears with floret ornaments set in pendulous lobes, wearing an elaborately carved poned crown with a figure of Amitabha buddha framing her chignon. Height with wooden stand 58 cm.
