A rug, an antique Kum Kapi with metal brocade, Istanbul around 1910, "Sultan's Head Prayer" design.

Ca 149,5-150 x 103,5-104 cm (including the flat weave at the ends). Designed by and woven in the workshop of the Zareh Penyamin. A red field with a polychrome decor of cloud bands, a dark green medallion with a signature as well as a dense pattern of palmette and flower festoons. A light green niche with flower vases and birds. A wide yellow main border with palmette, flower and arabesque vines as well as the upper part of the border with cartouches with inscriptions and flower vines. Several of the patterns are metal brocaded. About 810.000 knots per square meter.

Partly insignificant wear and dirt, insignificant stains and damages.
