Faces to each side of a glass panel, sand blasted decor, one side with engraved and synthetic hair, placed on an iron plate, signed 7279235 Kosta Boda Unique Kjell Engman. Comes with a tall painted and blasted wooden stand with light, height excluding the stand 67 cm, width 34,5 cm, total height 67 + 111 cm = 178 cm.
Designer
Kjell Engman is a Swedish glass artist born in Stockholm 1946. He studied at Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts and Design) and at Pilchuck, USA. Since 1978, Engman has been a designer at Kosta Boda. His glasswork is characterized by vibrant colors and playful shapes. His design language often deals with musical instruments and motifs from the animal and plant kingdoms. He frequently works on larger installations where glass is combined with elements such as sound and light. Kjell is widely commissioned for public art projects both in Sweden and internationally. He has an incredible ability to freeze time and immortalize moments of movement in glass.
